About Us

Ridens combines many decades of experience in consultancy and EU Public Affairs.

Ridens is an EU public affairs and business consultancy practice which takes pride in providing personalised, high-level counsel. Our consultants have extensive experience in a wide range of sectors, such as natural resources and environment, international trade, information technology, and retail and consumer goods, as well as in strongly regulated markets like alcohol, gaming and chemicals. Our offices are located in Brussels, the home of the European institutions, and just a stone’s throw away from the European Parliament and other EU buildings. We also operate internationally when needed, with local partners in relevant markets overseas.

Maurits Bruggink is a seasoned Public Affairs consultant with over 30 years experience in Brussels and internationally. He established Ridens in 2009 to offer tailor made services and provide clients with a sense of having their own office in Brussels. Over the years, Maurits has gained knowledge and experience in a wide range of sectors and policy areas. These include the toys sector, gambling, e-commerce, alcoholic beverages, metals and minerals, postal delivery, information technology, sports and others.  Policy areas include consumer protection, VAT, data protection, standardisation, internal market, and several others. Maurits is a Dutch national and holds a Master degree in International Trade from the University of Leiden.  He has working proficiency in five languages – Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish. Maurits also holds a ski-instructor licence.

Rebecca covers the position of Director at Ridens. During her career in Brussels, Rebecca has gained an extensive knowledge and experience in raw materials. Her policy areas of expertise include critical raw materials, circular economy, industrial policy, sustainability, waste, environmental health and safety, and occupational health and safety. Rebecca has also gained legal experience working with two Italian law firms respectively based in Rome, Italy, and Brussels, Belgium. She holds a master’s degree in law from the Università Roma Tre, in Rome. She is fluent in English and Italian and has an advanced level of French.

Angéline Camus covers the position of Account Manager at Ridens. She is responsible for political and policy monitoring on international trade, digitalisation, food safety and chemicals policies. Prior to joining RPA, she gained experience in external relations, multilevel cooperation and projects coordination working as a trainee at the Council of Europe and at the European Committee of the Regions. More recently she increased her knowledge of the Food safety sector working at the European Food Safety Authority. Angéline holds a Master’s degree in European Public law and governance from Maastricht University. She has a legal background in French, European and International Law. Angéline is fluent in French and in English. She has a working knowledge of Spanish and a basic knowledge of Italian.

Elisabeth covers the position of Account Executive at Ridens. She is responsible for event coordination and policy monitoring on European raw materials, sustainability and trade policy. Prior to joining RPA, she gained experience as a trainee for the EPP at the European Committee of the Regions. She has also worked as an intern assisting an MEP at the European Parliament. Elisabeth holds a Master’s Degree in European Studies from Maastricht University, with a specialisation in European Public Policy and Administration. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations by IE University in Madrid. Elisabeth is a Spanish and Austrian national. She is fluent in Spanish, German and English and has an advanced level of French.

Pierpaolo Proni

Pierpaolo covers the position of Account Executive at Ridens. He is responsible for political and policy monitoring on raw materials, chemicals, international trade and timber at European Union level. Prior to joining RPA, he worked in UNIDO at the Department of External Relations and Policy Research and at the U.S. Consulate in Florence.  Pierpaolo holds a double Master's Degree in International Relations by the University of Florence and the MGIMO University of Moscow. He is fluent in Italian and English, he has working knowledge of French, and has a basic knowledge of Russian.

Nikoleta joined Ridens as an associate in 2015. She is responsible for all design and branding activities, including the creation of brand (association) names; logo designs and visual identity; creation of info-charts, banners and annual reports; and other corporate material.

Daniel Paterson

Daniel is an experienced government relations professional with more than a decade of experience working in EU and member state policy development.  In addition to consultancy work, Daniel has had various roles in political campaigning. He was campaign manager and political advisor to then UK Minister Richard Harrington MP in the 2017 General Election and former Attorney General Dominic Grieve in the 2019 General Election. At an EU level, Daniel was advisor in Brussels to Vicky Ford MEP.  In his role with Ridens, Daniel focuses on EU-UK relations.  Daniel holds a a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in International Studies.

Ewald van Rooij

Ewald van Rooij is co-founder of Lindblom public relations public affairs. He is in charge of the day-to-day management of the office and is active for a number of clients, such as ING, the Royal Booksellers' Association, Madurodam and various participation and communication assignments in area development. Ewald specializes in corporate communication issues for companies and governments and public affairs. He often acts as a strategic advisor or coach of communication and PA managers, but he does not shy away from manual work. He is also active as a strategic advisor in participation processes.

Diana Kleinjans

Diana Kleinjans is co-founder of Lindblom public relations public affairs. Diana is active for a number of clients such as the Municipality of The Hague, the National Node for Forced Marriage and Abandonment (LKHA) and the National Ombudsman. Diana is specialized in the communication management of large projects and campaigns. Strategic, hands-on and goal-oriented. She was responsible for the press release of the first iPhones in the Netherlands on behalf of T-Mobile. She also organized various meetings for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, including a conference on child poverty and a meeting on the emergence of food banks.
